Stanton School mainly prepares students for examinations offered by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
Our 12-week Cambridge Examination Classes run twice a year, starting in March and September. No holidays are allowed during these 12 weeks.
If you pass the First Certificate Entrance test with an ‘A' or ‘B' or 'C' grade or if you want to study for the Advance, you may apply to go into an Examination Class but please note that places are limited as follows:
| Timetable | Places |
|---|---|

| 1:00pm to 4:00pm | 16 |
| 6:30pm to 8:30pm (part-time) | 16 |
For Proficiency candidates the minimum will be 8 places and the maximum limited to 16 places. Courses are run on demand and if there are not enough students at any timetable the course will not run.

Hurdle Tests will start on Tuesday 6 February 2012 and will continue until Tuesday 13 March 2012
The last day to take the Hurdle test is 3pm on Tuesday 13 March 2012
You must take a Hurdle (or Entrance) Test before you can go to an Examination Class.
The FCE (First Certificate in English) and the CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) Hurdle test lasts 2½ hours.
The CPE(Certificate of Proficiency in English) Hurdle test lasts 3 hours.
If you want to stay in a Practice class, you do not need to take a Hurdle Test and will have to prepare for the examination on your own.
Hurdle Tests are restricted to students of level 4a and above.
If you do not pass the Hurdle Test with an ‘A', ‘B' or ‘C' grade, you cannot go to an Examination Class, although the school will do the administration for you if you still want to enter the exam.
